Convulsic Charts in World Independant Top 10

July 23, 2014
Post Image

New single “The Day You Left” by San Diego artist Convulsic  is Sure to Intensify Your Senses.

California Electronica artist has charted in the world independant top 10 not once but twice with both of his releases with Musik Radio.

Music trends come and go, but the actual sounds remain imprinted on people forever. Every genre can cause a shift in emotion, and mood, but there some songs that can just create an influx of sounds and completely take over you. This is the sound that San Diego native Convulsic creates to make his mark in the trendsetting worlds of Electronica and Dub-Step. His influence with mainstream artists such as Flux Pavilion and Skrillex is present, however he is nurturing a sound that will compete with the heavy bass hitters of today’s scene and with his new singe “The Day You Left”, can define a sound that has potential to make San Diego the new Dub-Step destination.

Convulsic creativity is intense, and it can be heard and felt when listening to “Love Space”. Not your typical ballad, “The Day You Left” is a hard hitting, synth splitting Dub-Step track that takes charge of your speakers and intensifies your senses. Like most Dub-Step, “The Day You Left” has a soothing intro, comparable to roller coasters beginning their adventurous trail. With light soundscapes and gentle melodies, the song quickly bringing in rougher elements including impactful drums and gnarly synths; and before you know it, you’re trapped into the song’s growling bass lines and snarling synths. “The Day You Left” ensnares you with it’s high octane energy while creating an euphoric atmosphere for audiophiles to submerge their love for Dub-Step.

2012/2013 was big for Convulsic, entering the Dubstep scene and creating a wave of followers, you can be sure that 2014 will be even bigger!

How To Get Radio Airplay in the US

June 18, 2014
Post Image

You write what you think is a hit. So now what do you now?

You go online and look for radio promotion companies. You think it’s  simple – if you can get it out to radio they will know your song is a hit and it will be played and will chart. Wrong.

Getting airplay differs all over the world. Lets take the US, for example everyone no matter where you live, wants US airplay.

Clear Channels entered into revenue sharing agreements with numerous record labels. Clear Channels is even called a “Media Mobster”

You are an Independent artist, why do you think you are going to be played by the United States largest radio conglomerate? You may have a hit, a great song. But this is a money game, like most big business controlled by giants, so only giants have access.

If you want to get a hit in the US you will have to play the game. Meaning you better have some very deep pockets to play in this high stakes game. You will need to hire a team of promoters to maneuver your song into the charts. This team will need to be in a position to grease the airplay wheels to get your song played. Call it payola, call it big business, call it what you want. But the bottom line is unless you have a million dollars to drop into your single you are not going to get a hit record in the US.

So where does that leave you and your “hit” song? There are a lot of countries in the world. Most are very receptive to hearing and playing good music. The BBC radio network is the largest radio network in the world. BBC is the largest radio network in the world today!

Guess what? They listen to independent artists music and if they like it they play it. There are numerous other radio networks and stations around the world that don’t care who the label is and don’t care if you are an indie artist. The only thing they care about is it good music. So there is hope.

It is a digital world so why would anyone send a cd to radio? There are radio promotion companies that advertise pay us and we will  put your music on our site. Radio will sign in and wade thru the thousands of songs and find yours. Wrong. You need to deliver your song by a respected radio promoter digitally to to the radio station programmers. This way they can stream a piece of your music and if they like it then they will look at the rest of your submission and download it and play your music.

What is the answer to, “How to get radio airplay in the US?

There is always a way to get in the US front door , sometimes you need to go in the back door to be in the house.

Post Image

Ashley Baker’s new single, Cigarette Smokin, has been smokin’ up the airwaves since it’s release to worldwide radio promotion by Musik and Film.

Ashley started her career at 16 years old with the lead female role in the feature film “The Old Livingston House” in which her first single “Summer Daze” was featured.

“Summer Daze” got picked up by IRCountry Radio Network out of Dallas and went straight to #1 on their request chart. It has since gone on to be the 3rd most requested song of all time on the network.  Ashley then went to Nashville and met Peter Young, a young amazing producer, he helped her pick  “Bye Bye” and “What a Day to Shake a Heartache” and put her with some of the best known musicians in Nashville. She cut those records and they caught the attention of Al Shiltz and Mike Martinovich with The Consortium Group in Nashville who have worked with such names as Billy Joel, The Judd’s, Bruce Springsteen, Jason Aldean, Thompson Square and Band Perry and were instrumental in founding Broken Bow Records. She then heard from Randy Guidry and Debbie Holley of Holley-Guidry a well known management and consulting firm in Nashville who guided the career of Tracy Lawrence. These people have been very instrumental in guiding her career thus far and she owes them a great deal of gratitude.

Ashley went back into the studio and cut “Country Girls Rock” which went to #1 on Hot Country 102.9 in North Carolina and 76 Country in Branson and entered the top 50 on Real Country Radio in Tokyo. Ashley’s “Country Girls Rock” was the only independent picked by All Country 99.9 Radio in France along with 15 other United States country songs for the launch show when they changed their format to country, all of the other songs were artists signed on major labels. “Country Girls Rock” hit the TOP 5 in sales in Modern Country on CDBABY, one of the largest online distributors of music.

Ashley went back to Nashville this past summer and recorded “Might Be Today” which  went to #6 on 102.9 Hot Country the same week “Country Girls Rock” entered the TOP 50 on Real Country Radio in Tokyo, Japan.

She is currently playing on the road with her band The Neon Truckers and has a new single scheduled for September release.
