Amanda Sempf Going Solo AND “Hoping for a Moment” By Signing with Musik Radio Promotions

June 13, 2013
Post Image

Australia’s own Amanda Sempf is steppin’ out of the house and into the solo spotlight with her new single “Rainy Day Girl” currently being promoted by the fine people over at Musik Radio Promotions.  Now seeking global attention as a solo artist, Amanda is in good hands with Musik Radio Promotions.  The song has already been a BIG hit on radio stations all around the world and Sempf has even been picked up by the BBC network, which amounted to “Rainy Day Girl” being played on about 1,500 radio stations in just the first week of its release!  Not bad for someone releasing a debut single and performing alone this time around.

Amanda has a rich history in music and for years has been playing with her sisters and “mum”.  As a group they have played at numerous functions & festivals throughout Queensland and they also have three albums to their name.  So obviously the family business, in all its united glory, has been wonderful to Amanda Sempf but now it’s time to try something new.  “Rainy Day Girl” is that answer for Amanda to go along with a new album fittingly titled Hoping for a Moment.

The words “I just want to sing” are highlighted on Amanda’s website and I believe it!  This talented young lady from Down Under has a voice that is Over the Top!  Amanda Sempf has such a nice tone & quality to her voice and you do sense that she genuinely does love to sing.  The new track exhibits this quality perfectly where Amanda is blending together some Rock, Country, Pop & Adult Contemporary to make up one appealing, substance-heavy sound.

With “Rainy Day Girl” already experiencing a solid Wall of Success, there is no doubt in my mind that Amanda Sempf is more than well on her way.  Her time is now to sing…and SING LOUD for all to hear!  People can appreciate a good voice and a grounded artist, so then ladies and gentlemen get ready for Amanda Sempf.  Musik Radio Promotions will continue to push “Rainy Day Girl” to radio stations worldwide but in the meantime I think it’s safe to say that Amanda Sempf no longer needs to “hope for a moment” because she found it.

Muzart and its founder, Pat Melfi, have signed a deal with Musik and Film and President, Stephen Wrench, to exclusively represent the Platinum Library of music in a series of compilations. The Alliance Between Muzart And Musik And Film Will Enable The Platinum Library Of Legendary Music To Be Heard World Wide In Support Of Music Education As It Will Fund Music And Art Legacy In Public School Programs.

Pat Melfi is known in the music industry as a five time promoter of the year and the former VP to MCA Records. Forming a partnership with Ken Kragen, Ted Fujimoto, Brandon Frank, and Ellis Paillet, allowed for the development of Muzart World Foundation, a public charity, that will fund Music and Art Programs. The foundation purchased a large catalog of music called the Platinum Library.

This catalog includes over 900 Top Ten Billboard charting hit songs that represent a chronology of what has made American music what it is today – legends in all genres of music such as: Bill Haley, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Alice Cooper, John Anderson, Louis Armstrong, Atalnta Rhythm Section, Count Basie, Beau Brummels, Tony Bennett, George Bonds, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Glen Campbell, Carter Family, Nat King King Cole, Bing Crosby, Merle Haggard. These are just a few of the hundreds of artists within the 5,405 tracks. Rhonda Wrench, VP, Musik and Film, says, “there will eventually be thousands of compilations”.

Rhonda and Stephen Wrench are both former educators who understand that students who have arts-rich experiences in school do better across the board than those who do not. Rhonda says, “we have a passion to make a difference in some way and see this as a great opportunity to do so.”

Muzart World Foundation has many plans that will enhance learning in schools and prepare students to be successful, fulfilled and productive citizens. Their plans include embedding world class music and creative arts curricula in many schools in need of these programs without the extra tax burden or federal funding . This will create the opportunity for children to experience the magical moments of creativity and expression while enhancing the level of higher learning in other subjects such as math and science.

No one can do everything; but everyone can do something in support of a child and the future of music and art education. Together we are empowered to make the difference – especially when it comes to our children and their future. There are no excuses – its our responsibility.

Adrianna Freeman to Perform at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch

May 20, 2013
Post Image

Adrianna  will spend Memorial Day weekend at the home of one of her childhood idols, when she performs at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on May 25 and 26.

“Loretta Lynn has always been one of my favorites,” Freeman said. “I love the stories she tells in her songs, and she is one of a handful of female artists who influenced my own songwriting.”

The Ranch, which is Lynn’s home as well as a popular tourist attraction, includes shops, live entertainment and a museum dedicated to the singer’s career. Other artists are scheduled to perform there over the Memorial Day weekend, including Joe Nichols, Joey + Rorey, and Loretta Lynn herself. But for Freeman, one of the few African American female singers in country music, the opportunity is more personal than most, because of certain similarities between Lynn’s early life and her own.

“Loretta Lynn’s father was a coal miner who struggled to support his family in rural Kentucky; my dad was a sharecropper in the South,” Freeman said. “Ms. Lynn had a hard time getting radio stations to listen to her music, and so did I. I am not comparing my singing to hers; she will always be the Queen of Country Music. But she has been such an inspiration, the way she kept going when times were hard.”

Adrianna’s EP, “Either You Do or You Don’t”, promoted to world radio by Musik and Film’s promotional division, Musik Radio Promotions, is #3 on the Cashbox Music Charts.

The Lie About Radio Airplay

May 17, 2013
Post Image

You read articles that give “the truth”– that say Indie Artist can’t get airplay, Right? — WRONG!

It’s a BIG world out there!

Musik Radio Promotions has charted artists in the top 10 in many charts around the world.  Just check out the Wall of Success!

Indie Artists are playing on thousands of stations – some on TENS of thousands.

How, you ask?

Radio outside of the US works differently. The rest of the world for the most part does not have a top 40 that they play over and over. They have what they call “Radio Presenters” . These presenters each develop their own play lists based on what the audience wants to hear. And most stations outside the US are not one specific genre. Most stations play a variety of music and have shows that feature 2 to 4 hours of rock, then pop, then country and every other genre.

Musik Radio Promotions has over 250,000 radio stations in every genre in 80 countries. We literally have just about every radio station in the US, UK, Australasia, Ireland, Scotland, and thousands of stations in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. 98% of our stations are FM stations. We cover most Billboard, Cashbox and many other reporting stations and charts around the world. We promote to most major networks including ECMA, BBC, Sirius, I-Heart and many others.

So, who is Musik Radio Promotions?

Musicians.  Musicians that have toured the world extensively as members of internationally recognized artists.

We realized radio in the US is controlled by major labels known as “Gatekeepers”, meaning Major US radio corporations that positioned themselves as the “Gatekeepers” . They control almost 75% of the US radio market. This left 25% of possible stations within the US that would consider playing an Indie artist’s music. It’s a big world out there and we found out if you can get enough airplay outside of the US, it follows that the US market is then forced to listen and be receptive to playing your music.

How are we doing it differently?

Musik Radio Promotions has developed a program that will deliver a high quality DPK to radio PDs. The DPK  includes the artist’s promo picture, press quotes, web and social links, bios and music. We send the individual DPK to radio programmers all over the world. We do not “blast” and have developed a credible reputation in this industry.

Are we successful?

It’s easy to find out.  How many other sites do you see posting artists names listing pick-ups by the BBC, ECMA and thousands of stations around the world.  Check out the Testimonial Page.

Benefits?

  1. Collect 100% of airplay royalties around the world. A plus-outside the US, royalties are considerably higher.
  2. Touring, it is impossible to successfully tour unless people know who you are. Use the radio airplay and charts to successfully tour any geographical area.

Costs?

We design packages for the artist based on a single or multiple tracks.

How does an artist get started?

Experience has proved to the  team at Musik Radio Promotions what radio will play and will not play. Production of the track is “key”.

Submit your track for review to our team of seasoned producers.

We want your music – heard AND played.

Dustin Walker Signs Record/Promotions Deal with Musik And Film

May 9, 2013
Post Image

Seventeen year-old Dustin Walker’s exuberance for life is infectious as he exclaims on various posts on facebook, “All my rockin fans! I have missed you guys so much!! Thank you so much for all the new likes!! You guys are the best it means so much to me! I couldn’t do it without you all!

Dustin’s enthusiasm has brought him thus far as an accomplished musician, songwriter and actor with stage, film, and television experience. In March, Walker added record label and promotions deal to his long list of accomplishments by signing an international distribution and radio promotions package contract with Musik and Film Records.

Walker’s path was determined since the age of two, when Ronnie Grinel brought him on stage; as a result, Walker has been writing and performing ever since he can remember.

Walker may be chronologically young, but he has a maturity beyond his years. Much of this can be traced to his close ties with his family. His father, Jeff, a guiding force in his life says of his son, “The kid is a complete work-a-holic, not too many kids have this kind of drive”. Dustin’s deep affection for his family was reiterated in a facebook post recently exclaiming, “ How do you guys like my new hair color? Thank you Grandmum for doing my hair I love it!!! =) “

Walker has been playing guitar since the age of five, crafting original songs drawing from strong influences obtained in his experience performing with Grammy-Award-Winner Rick Springfield. Rick has said of Dustin, “I love being a part of someone’s life like that.” In 2010, Dustin performed onstage playing lead guitar for Rick Springfield who appears in the documentary film by Yellow Rick Road Productions about Springfield, An Affair of the Heart with the trailer featuring  Dustin at 1:59.

His label, MusikandFilm, have encouraged Dustin to team up with a variety of seasoned musicians/writers to hone his craft and to just have fun; And he has taken the advice to heart!

Dustin traveled to VA to play  at several venues.  Dustin led crazed performances at the 909 Saloon and the  Cheese Burger In Paradise in Fredericksburg with the Toby Fairchild Project. Dustin posted to his friends on facebook, “It was an amazing, rockin, late night!! We all worked very hard and did amazing!!”

Walker was invited to a writing session with Kevin Chalfant (Journey, The Storm, Survivor, Nelson, 707s), His pumped comments following said it all , “Had an amazing day in the studio with the great Kevin Chalfant we rocked it! I can’t wait for you guys to hear the new song!!”

Then it was a rush on to travel to Coal City, IL. John III of Platinum, a great cover band out of Chicago, requested Dustin to play a 30-song set of 70s and 80s, as the lead singer was out sick.  After learning some of the songs in the car on the way over to Gippers II, Dustin and Platinum Band were reviewed as having “one rockin’ night”! Dustin’s enthusiasm was evident as he posted to facebook, “Last night was one of the most rockin nights of my life!! I had such an amazing time being able to perform with The Amazing Rockin Platinum and the Great Brian Durbin from Love Blast! “

Dustin will be releasing an EP, ‘Between the Lines’, soon to be announced.

Dustin Walker does not take this place he has found in life  for granted. His love for life and people spill over and touches everyone – everywhere he goes.  He has a gift of spreading joy – and it is a gift that is sure to carry him – wherever he wants to go.

How Musik Radio Promotions gets your music heard and played in 80 countries

April 25, 2013
Post Image

Musik Radio Promotions has over 75,000 radio stations and 250,000 stations with syndicated networks and station affiliates in every genre in 80 countries. We literally have just about every radio station in the US, UK, Australasia, Ireland, Scotland, and thousands of stations in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. 93% of our stations are FM stations. We cover most Billboard, Cashbox and many other reporting stations and charts around the world. We promote to most major networks including BBC, Sirius, I-Heart and many others. We have charted artists in the top 10 in many charts around the world.

So, who is Musik and Film?

Most of the principals and associates at Musik and Film and Musik Radio Promotions are musicians and have toured the world extensively as members of internationally recognized artists.

We realized that radio in the US is controlled by major labels as “Gatekeepers” , meaning Major US radio corporations that positioned themselves as the “Gatekeepers” . They control almost 75% of the US radio market. This left 25% of possible stations within the US that would consider playing an Indie artist’s music. It’s a big world out there and we found out if you can get enough airplay outside of the US, it follows that the US market is then forced to listen and be receptive to playing your music.

Radio Promotion was done for decades regionally. Meaning radio promotion companies charged a fee usually starting at $2500 USD and up to mail your music to a few hundred radio stations in a specific genre and then call them to urge them to play you. But it’s no longer a regional market – it’s a World Market.

As such, we started calling radio programmers around the world. We promised them that we would never send more than 4 artists in any one genre in any one week. We also promised them that we would be selective and only send the best artists and not send them anything that would not stand up to any other major artist. Radio in turn promised us they would listen.

So, what does this mean for you – the artist?

Radio outside of the US works differently. The rest of the world for the most part does not have a top 30 that they play over and over. They have what they call “Radio Presenters” . These presenters each develop their own play lists based on what the audience wants to hear. And most stations outside the US are not one specific genre. Most stations play a variety of music and have shows that feature 2 to 4 hours of rock, then pop, then country and every other genre.

Musik Radio has developed its own software that will deliver a high quality DPK to radio PDs. The DPK  includes the artist’s promo picture, press quotes, web and social links, bios and of course their music. The DPK is created by us and then approved by the artist. Once approved, we send the DPK to radio programmers all over the world. Radio can stream and listen and then decide if they want to download it for airplay. We provide weekly reporting to every artist for the life of the single, which has ranged from a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of over a year for some artists.

Benefits to the Indie Artist:

  1. Collect 100% of airplay royalties around the world.
  2. Touring, it is impossible to successfully tour unless people know who you are. Use the radio airplay and charts to successfully tour any geographical area.

Costs? We design packages for the artist based on a single or multiple tracks.  We can also add old fashioned radio calls to radio programmers urging them to listen and play your music. All packages include a world press release and promotion.

How does an artist get started?

Experience has proved to Musik Radio Promoters what radio will play and will not play.

Submit your track for review to our team of producers.

We want your music – heard AND played.

Power Rock Group, ONE, powers up with Musik Radio Promotions

April 11, 2013
Post Image

Proclaimed as “the next Nickelback from Quebec”  by ETalk Daily  (CTV), power rock group, ONE,  has teamed up with Musik Radio Promotions to gain international exposure.

After the success of their Sophomore release “Dirty Valentine”. The ONE boys felt incredibly inspired to begin working on a new album. Having spent the better part of the last 3 years touring, there was a lot of excitement about getting back into writing mode.

In the music business today, albums can sound generic and too polished. Something that ONE tries to avoid. “The bands and albums that inspire us to be musicians are the old school Led Zeppelin, Ramones and Motley Crue records. Nowadays everything is sampled and over compressed for radio, the soul of the songs at
times seems to be lacking,” says guitarist Staniforth who also co-produced the last album with guitarist, Jardine.

The new album “Worlds Collide” speaks of struggles and success stories of today’s reality. A groovy, rock your face off album that has a little something for everyone. “It even has a song that if you turned the heavy guitars back could be considered country,” says Rossi.

“With so much going on in the World, you can’t help but write about it. It is all about staying positive and staying the course,” adds Staniforth.

Signing a global radio promotions deal with Musik Radio Promotions, seemed to be the next logical step on the course to getting a positive message out to the world. With the first single promotion of, “Queen of Rock n’ Roll”, One,  has begun to build a global fan base and are on the Musik Radio Wall of Success,   having gotten airplay on over 1,000 stations worldwide.

With a new album comes a new chapter. A chapter that the band will write one show at a time.

Beating The Odds- How Indie Artists Are Winning the Battle for Effective Commercial Airplay

March 30, 2013
Post Image

Recently there was an article by a well-known indie artist’s site entitled, “Radio Promotion- Why You Won’t Get Commercial Airplay”.  There is nothing further from the truth.

Good News – outside the US, world radio plays what they consider is good music.

They don’t care “who” the label is and you can’t pay them to play what they consider bad music. They are attentive to their listening audience and play what the audience wants to hear.

The Not so good news -Every year thousands of Indie artists attempt to place their music on commercial radio in the US to find it is only a racket. It’s a closed system of secret handshakes, pay to play, and broken promises. The playlists on commercial radio stations are mostly dictated from a central corporate headquarters and the songs are picked based on what record companies are “paying” the most in favors, vacations, money, and other various “who knows”? (top forty anyone?)

However, radio is still the most effective way to expose an Indie artist’s music to the public.

In the past, it was a daunting, expensive process. For decades, a promotion company worked in a limited geographical area. The promoter sent out records, tapes, cds to about 200 or so radio programmers in a specific genre and geographical region. There are still old school radio promoters out there doing business the same way. Not very effective, nor does it reach a lot of stations or give the artist maximum exposure.

Radio Promotion in the 21st Century

Now there are tons of companies offering promotion to internet radio stations. Then there are some internet stations where a artist can pay for so many spins on that internet station. It is unlikely anyone will ever hear them since the only people who listen to these stations are artists who paid to have their music played. Most of the listeners are other artists waiting to hear their song played.

Then there are the promotion companies who for a fee allow you to place your music on their site advertising that they have X amount of radio stations. They say that their radio stations are going to go on their site and wade through millions of songs in the hopes they will pick yours to add to their playlist. Radio programmers do not have the time nor the inclination to spend their week wading thru releases to find your song.

So – How DO you get played on BBC, Sirrus, Clear Channels and other major reporting stations?

It’s a big planet we live on. These days with digital distribution and all the many sites on the internet you want the world to hear your music. Not just a limited geographical area. Yes, internet radio is global but mainstream radio is still the most reliable source for anyone to hear your music. Mainstream like the BBC, Sirrus, Clear Channels and other major reporting stations.

How do you get to them?

There are a few innovative companies out there that have stayed ahead of the curve and all the changes. What you as an artist wants is to be able to deliver your music directly into the hands of radio program directors. You want to be able to do this without having to send a cd . Without having to have radio programmers wade thru a million releases to have yours jump out at them.

You want to be heard and played.

So search for a company that delivers a high quality digital press kit to radio programmers that they can quickly stream and listen to. And if they like what they hear they can download it for airplay. Find a promoter who does this around the globe to tens of thousands of stations – one with developed relationships, measurable results, and references.

Indie Artists Are Getting Commercial Airplay – Now

The good news is outside the US world radio plays what they consider is good music. They don’t care who the label is and you can’t pay them to play what they consider bad music. They are attentive to their listening audience and play what the audience wants to hear. So if you are good as you think you are,  find one of these radio promoters who will deliver your music to the world without you taking out a second mortgage on your home.

We do exist.
