The voice that many find to be unique and unable to be duplicated is back! Pamela Long of the platinum selling R&B group Total, has emerged once again with the sound we all fell in love with.  Her sound first debuted on the Bad  Boy/Arista roster, which immediately garnered her the spot as the lead vocalist of the group. Music mogul Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs recognized the distinction of Pamela’s voice, and used it to make a huge impact in he music industry. Total is best known for their hits “What You Want” (Featuring Mase), “Kissing You”, “Can’t You See” (featuring The Notorious B.I.G.), and “What About Us”.

All three members of R&B super group, Total , Kima Raynor, Keisha Spivey and Pamela Long, are currently reuniting  for the first time ever to represent the fierce ladies behind the Bad Boy empire touring with The Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.“This isn’t just a concert– this is a moment in hip hop and R&B history.” said Sean “Diddy” Combs aka Puff Daddy.

This Grammy Award winner (for the song “Hypnotize” with The Notorious B.I.G) made an indelible mark on contemporary R&B music back then, and is just as relevant today; ready to surpass what has already been done. Pamela’s new single, “You Said” continues to forge ahead with a style that is uniquely “Pamela Long”.

Pamela says, “By God’s grace I am here, and by God’s grace I shall remain.” And we are all blessed because of her continued presence in the music world!

Ex-Girlfriend’s Julia Robertson and Norm Adams pair up for single Body Rush now Released by Musik Radio Promotions

July 25, 2016
Post Image

Julia Robertson and Norm Adams pair up  for hit single, Body Rush.  Now released by Musik Radio Promotions, the single has proved a hit, being picked up by the BBC networks and thousands of stations around the world.

Julia Robertson achieved fame in the 90’s, as part of the female R&B group Ex-Girlfriend. The New York based quartet was comprised of Julia, Tisha Hunter, Monica Boyd and Stacy Francis .  Signed to Warner/Reprise Records, Ex- Girlfriend’s debut album, “X Marks the Spot”, yielded the hit singles “Why Can’t You Come Home?” (Billboard #5 U.S. R&B), and “You (You’re The One For Me)”.

Norm Adams is a singer-songwriter, whose creative style has often drawn comparisons to Babyface, Ne-Yo and Bruno Mars. His debut solo album, “This Is My Time”, was produced by Grammy nominated producers Ric Zivic and Ted Wender, and included the Top 10 indie record, “Love Me” (MWR UK #7), and the dance floor filler “Stretch Ya Neck”, whose video was designated by Yahoo as a “must see” .

Destiny came calling when a mutual friend suggested on social media that Julia and Norm do a song together, calling them his “two favorite singers”. Julia responded that she thought it was a great idea, and that she’d love to do it! Norm had written “Body Rush” some time ago, but never quite knew what to do with it because as he elaborated, “I didn’t feel that it was right for me as a solo artist, (or any solo artist for that matter). When presented with the idea of a duet however, I knew it would be perfect! I sent Julia a demo of the song, and she absolutely loved it! A couple of weeks later, she came out to my house in Philadelphia, and we began working on it. The first time our voices blended on the song, we both knew that it was going to be something special.”

“Body Rush” was officially released on May 31, 2016, and the release was celebrated shortly thereafter at an exclusive red carpet event in New York City, where the video was screened to a standing room only crowd.

The “Body Rush” music video was shot over two days in New York and Philadelphia, and was directed by award winning filmmaker Maurice Paramore. The concept is that of a man, sitting alone in a bar, fantasizing about being in a relationship with a beautiful woman that he sees walking by. At the end of the video, much to his surprise, she approaches him as he is getting ready to leave. It is a beautiful love story in keeping with the theme of the song, and the on screen chemistry between Julia and Norm is a reflection of their real life friendship and genuine affinity for one another. Parts of the video reference the duo’s  individual music careers as well.  Half way through the video,  each have solo shots where scenes from  previous music videos are shown on a big screen in the background. Additionally, the opening scene features a cameo appearance by Julia’s ‘Ex Girlfriend’ bandmate, Tisha Hunter.

Italian band, Illacrimo, releases “With Ones Own Eyes” with Musik and Films Radio Promotions.  The band has since  had 3 songs in the Euro Indie Music Chart between January and May 2016, one of these in the TOP 20.

” It’s been an honour of sitting on Musik and Film’s working group, a beautiful dream for a band like us. I have a lot of feelings in my heart at the moment…life is strange and beautiful at the same time, my father, Janos Acs, conducted Aretha Franklin at the Grammy 1998,and he was the Conductor of Luciano Pavarotti”, states  Davide-Kristof Acs from iLLacrimo.

Illacrimo reviews have been positive:

Larry Toering  of Ventsmagazine quotes “After a long way full of different experiences, two young brains meet again,in a moor between fog and melancholy near Milano. Davide-Kristof (son of Janos Acs, an important Conductor) and Federica Sara raise a project of European sounds, shuffle with the traditional Italian melody. “This is an outstanding work to their credit and only suffers from not enough songs amongst all there is to be said, besides the consensus being this is one killer band.

“A debut featured by charisma and personality”. Rock Hard

“A convincing debut that makes iLLacrimo a reality worth to be followed”.All Music Italia

“iLLacrimo display a drive being seen less and less amond unsigned and indie bands. This group is hungry”.Jammerzine

Canadian Lance King releases Driftin with Musik Radio Promotions

April 12, 2016
Post Image

Canadian, Lance King, releases Driftin’ with Musik Radio Promotions following the successful release of Love You All the Way. Recorded at Omni Studios in Nashville, TN and produced by Stephen Wrench, Driftin’ is destined to become the next worldwide radio hit.

Driftin’ was written by Lance’s Father, Ed King. Ed continues to enjoy a long and productive career in the music industry being a member of the BCCMA (British Columbia Country Music Association) hall of fame and has won several awards as entertainer or male vocalist of the year in both “The Canadian Country Gospel Music Association” and the “The Country Music Association.” Lance respects the talent of his father saying, “I liked the song and wanted to honor my Father by recording a song that he has written.”

Lance grew up in a musical family, his maternal grandparents having played piano and fiddle at the local Saturday night dance hall, his fraternal grandmother sung and played guitar, and his father, Ed King, being a still musically active member of the BCCMA hall of fame. From an early age, Lance aspired to be a singer/songwriter and has written several songs including “Rockem’ Sockem’ Christmas” which was recorded by his father and released on a compilation disc in the fall of 1994. While receiving some airplay in Canada and the US, “Rockem’ Sockem’ Christmas” was well received in France and charted at #27 a few weeks before Christmas.

In 2012 Lance released his CD D.I.M.E.S. which is an acronym for Determination, Inspiration, Motivation, Education, and Solutions. Lance wrote most of the songs on D.I.M.E.S. including “Livin’ My Own Way” which became the theme song for Danny Halo’s successful quest to set a Guinness World Record for the longest journey on a motorized bicycle. Lance also wrote “You Can Make Difference If You Try” and co-wrote “Brand New Sunny Day” which were both featured in the Vancouver produced documentary “Try On A Disability”.

Inspired by his mentally challenged daughter, Lance formed “King’s Developmental Farm Association” which is a BC registered society aimed on improving life by providing educational and vocational opportunities for young adults living with a developmental disability. Lance’s approach to music and song writing is to send a positive message of triumph over adversity, remind the listener that high self-esteem is a birthright, and that to love, be loved and be accepted for who you are is really all that matters.

Lance has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.  He recorded 5 other songs while in Nashville and those will be released later this year.

Lance is appreciative of his success up to this point and responds,” I want to thank all the stations for playing my previous release “Love You All The Way” . It was a real thrill watching for and seeing my efforts on the charts”. “Love You All The Way” peaked @ #12 on the Euro Indie Music Chart and #23 on the Digital Radio Tracker National (USA) Top 50 ‪#‎Country‬ chart and is still on the charts recieving thousands of plays each week.

There will be much more coming of which to be thankful!

Jerry Bogan single Let It Rain No. 1 National Top 80 independent Chart

February 17, 2016
Post Image

Jerry Bogan single Let It Rain is No. 1 on the DRT National Airplay Top 80 Independent Chart. Written by Jerry Bogan and Produced by Stephen Wrench, the first single to be released off the album has caught the attention of fans all over the globe with a campaign by Musik Radio Promotions.

Jerry took time to share some of his experiences over the years:

What has been your greatest opportunity in your career so far?  I’ve been fortunate to have worked with some of the greatest artist and producers in the world. And I thank God every day for letting me meet the world class producer, Stephen Wrench.

What do you think distinguishes a true music artist from an entertainer?  I think you really have to be both in this business. In the studio, it’s all about the music. On stage, it’s all about being an entertainer.

If you could make 1 change to the music industry, what would it be?  I would like to see radio go back to the days when the DJs made the choice of what gets played.

What do you want to always be remembered for?

A great songwriter.

Besides music, what are 3 of your favorite things?

You mean there is other things!

What made you want to pursue a career in music?

When I first heard Jim Croce on the radio, I knew I wanted to write songs. Singing and preforming just naturally followed.

Do you play any instruments?  Yes, Guitar and Bass.

If so, how does being a musician help you as a songwriter? Sometimes I will write the music to a song, then later write the lyrics. Sometimes the other way, and sometimes write both at the same time. Having the flexibility to flow with where a song wants to go, is the advantage of being a musician.

What advice would you give a music artist who is just starting out? Hang with the best musicians you can find.

When did you realize that you wanted a career in music and what prompted that decision? My first paying gig was in 1979. We played five shows a day, six days a week and made a whopping $149 dollars a week. I was hooked, and hungry!

What are your goals and where do you want to take your music?  My goals are to be successful in a cross genre platform. I really don’t like labels being put on music and Artist being put in a box. The marketing gurus call a song country or rock or pop or whatever, but as long as the song is something you like, nothing else really matters.

Where do you see your artistry going in the next 5 years?

I’m focusing on my live show right now. Really going to mix it up. When you come out to the show, you just will never know what’s next.

What has been your best and your worst moment during your career so far?  I had the honor of producing Waylon’s last show. It was both great and sad because we all knew it was his last.

If you had the chance for the world to hear one song what would it be?  My next release of course!!!

Musik and Film Records is thrilled to be working with a seasoned artist such as Jerry, and help  cultivate his dreams.     The team at Musik and Film Records will be posting regular updates so please stay tuned!
