Australia’s Rock Band Mass Sky Raid
Musik Radio Promotions just released 2 singles for Mass Sky Raid and they are now on stations all over the world including 3 BBC networks each estimated at 20 million listeners at any one time. “They are an awesome band”!
Modern alt/prog rock band Mass Sky Raid formed on the Gold Coast, Australia in 2011 and quickly made a name for themselves with support slots for Electric Horse, Twelve Foot Ninja and Dead Letter Circus. They soon set their sights set on heading to the studio; the resulting “Courage Under Fire” EP released earlier this year being an impressive debut to say the least, garnering rave reviews from everyone who hears it, including a 4.5 star out of 5 rating from Australia’s heavy duty rock bible Blunt Magazine.
The tracks were recorded at Loose Stones Studios with producer Matt Bartlem and engineer Tyse Lee; with ARIA award-winning producer Forrester Savell (Sing Sing, Melb) and producer J.R. McNeely (Nashville TN, US) taking on mixing duties. The 5 tracks were mastered by Grammy Award winner Tom Coyne (Pink, Adele, Cage The Elephant) at Sterling Sound in New York.
Live, Mass Sky Raid pour their heart and soul into their performances; creating an on-stage experience that sonically translates the emotional impacts and intricacies in their studio recordings. Their songs are exciting and have an easily-accessible sound with universal and relative concepts and hooks; and with the band already preparing to head back into the studio to record their follow-up release, you can expect to hear a lot more from and about Mass Sky Raid…
David Park’s “Swedish Country” style hits the airwaves with Musik Radio Promotions
This new genre is called Swedish Country and the pioneer is life long musician David Park.
David originally grown up on a farm in the small village called Djura, outside the hockey town Leksand. The influence of working on the fields, driving tractors from early age and helping out handling the cattle has inspired to come up with titles like David Brown and Hardcore Trucking. The farming chores were alternated with long sessions of Heavy Metal drumming, playing along to Iron Maidens Nick McBrain and Slayers Dave Lombardo.
In his teens, David and his family moved to Japan for a three year stint at the Swedish School on the Japanese country side, where his parents worked as teachers. This quite unusual life experience had a profound effect on developing this special sound and style.
The Japanese town planning forced him to develop his guitar skills, since it´s impossible for a Heavy Metal drummer to practice his double bass drums without seriously challenging his neighbors.
The music on this album has evolved over a long time but kick started when David wanted to develop the Billy Gibbons play style, using finger picks while playing groovy riffs.
At a Magical Meeting with a Deeringer Banjo in a music store the unique crossover sound was about to take shape.
David has been a musician all his life, playing various instruments with different bands such as Drums with Borlänge glam rockers Space Age Baby Jane, guitar with the Racing rock band Jug McKenzie and even his Industry Electro Pop sister Karin Park. However its in this project he is showing his true self fronting the band handling the Banjo and Lead Vocals.
This is a Great band an a mindblowing live act where David is backed up by no others then Dan McKenzie (ex-Mustash), super guitarists Conrad Boqvist and Magnus Josefsson, and by Martin Willhelmsson on upright bass.

Is The Dream of a Major Label Deal Just a Dream?
Once upon a time an artist could dream they would be the lucky one–that a major record deal would appear under their pillow. They would wake up and go into a studio and record an album with a top-notch producer. Once the album was complete the major label would hire publicists, radio promoters and put them on tour with another major artist. Soon thereafter they would be a star. Nice dream. Unfortunately, that was once upon a time.
Today is a new day. Major labels still exist but on a different level. The days of discovering talent are over. EMI and all its subsidiaries went bankrupt and their catalog was sold for exploitation. There are no more development deals of which we know.. There are no more major record deals for the unknown artists. There are no more free development or PR or radio promotion. There is no one left to pick up the tab but the artist themselves.
Artists around the world can thank the digital age for this shift. Free downloads, free streaming — No more record stores, only a handful here and there. So how can a major label recoup their investment into developing a new artist? They can’t , that’s why those days are over.
Artists need to realize if they are going to make it — it is going to be up to them to hire the studios, the producers, the publicist and the radio promoter. They are going to have to be very savvy and educated on what’s happening in the industry today. They are going to have to work their social media, publicity and radio promotions.
I quote “. Commercial radio airplay remains the number one outlet for discovery” Here are the 12 strategies for success as an indie artist. .http://indieconnect.com/12-strategies-long-term-success-indie-artist/
