Rhett May, Spotlight Artist for 3000 Records

February 4, 2014
Post Image

Rhett May has been chosen as Spotlight Artist through February for 3000 Records.  Terrance   Schemansky at 3000 Records says, “We are happy to have Rhett as our Spotlight Artist  this month!”

Rhett will also be featured on myspace, facebook  and twitter, with an email blast to 12,000+ artists and musicians.

Rhett May, a multi-cultural singer/songwriter/musician from Down Under has been receiving acclomades from all over the world with his new EP titled ‘Insatiable’.  Promoted to radio by  Musik Radio Promotions, Rhett May has continued to make a huge splash with receiving play by thousands of stations and networks including the BBC.

Apparently, all the work on the production end has paid off.  Rhett says of working with the MAF production team, “I feel I built a rapport with Stephen Wrench from day one….very easy going and likeable guy…and nothing was too hard…we shared some stories that are insane and I guess we come from a similar background in music…a similar era…the classic rock ’When the van is rockin’ don’t come knockin’ era…and the influences very much gel. Their interpretations and ideas did surprise me at times…but I listened and absorbed and came away with a sense of excitement that Stephen and Terry Nails….. that someone like Musik and Film were actually interested enough to take the time in listening to my songs, tearing them apart…positively…and then helping me put them back together in ways that I hadn’t considered. I think that they’ve taught me a number of things…and I’m grateful …I’m always learning and will certainly incorporate some of their fundamentals moving forward. ”

The whole idea was to have five songs that were entirely different from each other: ”Cocktails and Cannabis” (rock groove), ”Insatiable” (Acoustic and melancholy), ”Hey Peter” (Reggae/Upbeat) and ”Jenny” (Sixties/Beatleish).

This combination has certainly struck a chord as it has continued to generate excitement with every release.

South African Singer/Songwriter Natalie Chapman is embarking on an epic journey from 30th January 2014 – 29 April 2014 in association with an incredible organisations Kwanele- Enuf is Enuf and The Epic Foundation.

She will be performing 90 gigs in 90 Days across South Africa in an effort to give a voice to Victims of Violent and Sexual Crimes by raising awareness and funding.

From 30th Jan 2014 to 29th April 2014 they will embark on a journey across the country in their endeavor to visit 90 towns in 90 days performing 90 gigs and hosting talks across South Africa raising awareness for and bringing a voice to the millions of victims of violent and sexual crime in South Africa. The journey will be documented via online streaming, filming, traditional media and social networking.

2 woman on the road alone!

Andy Kawa (Kwanele-Enuf) – The Activist

Businesswoman and rape activist Andy Kawa started Kwanele-Enuf Foundation after a gruesome gang-rape ordeal two and a half years ago.

In Andy’s Own Words

“In despair after my ordeal I was inspired by former President Nelson Mandela in Broken Bones and Broken Bodies: violence against women exposed’ where he commented as follows:”

“Safety and security do not just happen; they are a result of a collective consensus and public investment. We owe it to our children – the most vulnerable citizens of society – a life free from violence and fear. In order to ensure this, we must become tireless in our efforts not only to attain peace, justice and prosperity for countries but for communities and members of the same community. We must address the roots of violence. Only then will we transform the past legacy from a crushing burden into a cautionary lesson.”  (NR Mandela)

“I believe that as a Society we need healing and reconciliation as the cases of rape and sexual abuse run deep in the social fabric of our society. We can attain this healing and begin a new era in South Africa where women, men and children live freely without the fear of rape and molestation and where rape and sexual violence in an exception instead of the norm.

The work of transformation has to start in the smallest places, which is our homes, where we protect our children, the handicapped and our elderly – the vulnerable of our society. From families this transformation will move to our communities, schools, organization and the greater Society.

We have a Constitution that upholds the rights safety and security, to human dignity, justice and protection of children and vulnerable of society. Currently, rape and sexual abuse negated the values enshrined in the Constitution, and Kwanele-Enuf intends to mobilize the greater society, judiciary and government to work together to make the Constitution a reality that can be upheld by the South African Society.

Carol Strickland going all the way with ‘Good Intentions’

August 26, 2013
Post Image

Carol Strickland signed a record and promotions deal with Musik and Film Records, a few short months ago.  ‘Good Intentions’,  Strickland’s,  EP was released  and Musik Radio Promotions began a campaign for the single, ‘Bitterness and Pain’.  The singer/songwriter’s song  immediately captured the attention of radio station managers across the globe including the BBC network and ECMA reporting stations.

Carol has went on to be critically acclaimed:

Stephen Wrench says of Carol, “he writes with honesty and sings with emotion. Carol draws you in as he tells his stories in song”.

” Without any pretentiousness, Carol Strickland  is true to his craft and easily demonstrates his compassion for each lyric, whether it concerns an abusive father in “Bitterness and Pain”, a love on the verge of being lost as in “Pouring Rain,” or an anthem of encouragement to givers in “Help Your Fellow Man. His “Good Intentions” project is a wonderful collection of a man who feels deeply for life, sings from the soul, and reminds all of us of our frailties and faith. It is his portrayal of faith and understanding of the struggle often to maintain it that sets Carol Strickland aside from other tune smiths.” Wayne Morton Operations Manager (Ret.)96.3 WGOG

Carol states, “After years of struggling to make it to the Country Radio airways and jacklegg promotion companies taking advantage of what money I had to spend. GOD brought me MUSIK AND FILM and I am more than satisfied. STEPHEN and Rhonda have truly brought this dream of mine to life. Being picked up by the BBC AND THE ECMA. Having more spins in 48 hours than I’ve had my entire music career.

Now playing on over 18,000 stations worldwide,  Carol can look forward to many more “spins” to come!
