Since May 2014, Bandwagon Network Radio, has played 600,000 songs from independent musicians and artists from the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, India, Malta, and every European and Scandinavian Country.
As an Indie Label, Musik and Film Records, recognizes the importance of stations such as BWNR.
BWNR is the brainchild of Cliff Broyhill. The idea was formed in December 2013, while Broyhill was working for RCS, a company whose parent is iHeartMedia. RCS designs and supports radio automation software used by iHeartMedia, Cumulus, Univision, and other major US broadcasters and other countries worldwide. A “special project” was being developed for streaming stations that would benefit direct licensing deals made with major US labels by iHeart Radio. As a Technical Support Engineer, Cliff’s job was to monitor the cities that were testing the “special” software prior to implementation across all iHeart Radio clusters.
Cliff Broyhill’s family, who has a music background, and when thinking about the other independent artists met over the years made this unacceptable to him. He felt it was going to only help those who were signed to the biggest labels and ignored all independent/DYI artists. He also felt it was going to create even more “cookie-cutter” music than “artistic, meaningful music”.
In January 2014, a team was formed: family and friends with experience in many areas including computer networking & concert promotion, graphics design plus some musician friends. Bandwagon Network Radio continues as an independent internet radio station located in the USA thanks to generous fans and musicians.I t broadcasts Independent Music only 24 hours a day; 7 days a week to a world-wide audience. BWNR is governed by the U.S. Copyright Royalties Board and as such is registered to broadcast this music via that license or with agreements made directly with the individual music submitters.

Cliff Broyhill’s dream of providing “the music of independent artist to music fans who are tired of corporate radio dictating what they hear” is now a reality. Broyhill is constantly looking for fresh innovative music as it is what the network is about . He invites you to join BWNR and help independent artist become the future stars of tomorrow.
