Blessid Union of Souls have already had their taste of success back in the mid-90s when they released their debut album Home. That record went on to sell TONS of copies back in 1995 and that same year would be certified Gold by the RIAA (Now Platinum). The CD included many chart-toppers including the Smash, Hit single “I Believe”. Blessid Union of Souls would continue to pick up steam by being featured on the Gold-selling Carole King tribute album Tapestry Revisited (Rod Stewart, Faith Hill, The Bee Gees & Amy Grant) and the double platinum soundtrack for “Pokemon: The First Movie”. The Ohio-based band kept rollin’ along with appearances on: “Contact” (starring Jodie Foster & Matthew McConaughey), “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (starring Jim Carrey), “Cold Case”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, “Live with Regis”, “Good Morning America”, “All My Children”, “Top of the Pops” and VH1. Sharing the stage with such big acts as: Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind and Mike & The Mechanics one would think that Blessid Union of Souls have seen and done it all…BUT guess again!
Lead singer, pianist and co-founder Eliot Sloan alongside his fine group of musicians have a brand new Mission and whole new playing Field. On the new track and on the entire album, the message is clear and that is that there is one purpose in mind for Blessid Union of Souls–playing for the almighty Lord. “I’ve always sung about wanting to live right, and with the Mission Field, it’s just a matter of taking things one step further and doing in my heart what I’m called to do. You can never get too close to God, and throughout all of these songs, I’m always going in that direction,” said Sloan.
