Ashley Baker’s new single, Cigarette Smokin, has been smokin’ up the airwaves since it’s release to worldwide radio promotion by Musik and Film.

Ashley started her career at 16 years old with the lead female role in the feature film “The Old Livingston House” in which her first single “Summer Daze” was featured.

“Summer Daze” got picked up by IRCountry Radio Network out of Dallas and went straight to #1 on their request chart. It has since gone on to be the 3rd most requested song of all time on the network.  Ashley then went to Nashville and met Peter Young, a young amazing producer, he helped her pick  “Bye Bye” and “What a Day to Shake a Heartache” and put her with some of the best known musicians in Nashville. She cut those records and they caught the attention of Al Shiltz and Mike Martinovich with The Consortium Group in Nashville who have worked with such names as Billy Joel, The Judd’s, Bruce Springsteen, Jason Aldean, Thompson Square and Band Perry and were instrumental in founding Broken Bow Records. She then heard from Randy Guidry and Debbie Holley of Holley-Guidry a well known management and consulting firm in Nashville who guided the career of Tracy Lawrence. These people have been very instrumental in guiding her career thus far and she owes them a great deal of gratitude.

Ashley went back into the studio and cut “Country Girls Rock” which went to #1 on Hot Country 102.9 in North Carolina and 76 Country in Branson and entered the top 50 on Real Country Radio in Tokyo. Ashley’s “Country Girls Rock” was the only independent picked by All Country 99.9 Radio in France along with 15 other United States country songs for the launch show when they changed their format to country, all of the other songs were artists signed on major labels. “Country Girls Rock” hit the TOP 5 in sales in Modern Country on CDBABY, one of the largest online distributors of music.

Ashley went back to Nashville this past summer and recorded “Might Be Today” which  went to #6 on 102.9 Hot Country the same week “Country Girls Rock” entered the TOP 50 on Real Country Radio in Tokyo, Japan.

She is currently playing on the road with her band The Neon Truckers and has a new single scheduled for September release.

Laurel Moore, known as “One Lady Jazz“, since releasing ‘Frost On The Window’ with Musik Radio Promotions has been picked up by 14 BBC networks and with 4 releases is playing on over 50,000  stations around the world. Laurel is now working on her 8th publishing deal since her 4th release to with Musik Radio Promotions.

Just recently, Frost on the Window, by Laurel Moore/OneLadyJazz and Steve Parisien climbed to no. 52 on the Jazz chart right next to the great Al Jarreau.

If you want to be an indie artist you have to be a little daft. It’s a hard road to go down when only a few see the light.

But before you decide, ask yourself – can you make a loud room quiet? Being one myself, that has been there and done that,  can you make the hair stand up on their arms? Does the story you wrote make them smile and cry? It takes a lot more than just being able to sing or perform a song. It takes a creator, an innovator – one who is not afraid to break new ground. It takes invention and reinvention. It takes a gift that very few have. The gift to move people with their words and their music. If you have that,  at least you have a fighting chance because like I said,  it’s a long road that few make it down.

Beyond being good you can either be very lucky or very smart. Lucky is easier, but do you think you can find an angel investor to help get your career off the ground? Beause you have to record, produce, manufacture merchandise, pay for radio promotion, pr, booking agents. It all costs money if ya don’t have an angel with at least 100 grand then you better be very smart. Smart meaning,  research the business you are in,  I mean really research it .

Develop a business plan to include marketing. Even if you don’t have the thousands behind you – you can do this if you plan the right strategy and if that doesn’t work – try a new strategy.

Because if you can make the hair stand up on their arms, make them smile, cry and feel what you created, if you can move them –   You got it.

Brad Tucker recently released his new single, Straight to the Sun, to world-wide radio promotions.  It has been well received and picked by the BBC and major stations on a global scale.

Canadian born singer/songwriter Brad Tucker has been writing and performing music professionally since 1996 with the release of his first studio recording “The Color of Love”. He was first recognized nationally in 2003 with a prestigious nomination for an ECMA Award, along- side of major artists including Anne Murray, Great Big Sea, and The Rankin Family. As his musical journey came to fruition, more nominations and awards followed. “I’m thankful for my accomplishments so far, but the greatest reward for me is seeing the hearts of my fans being touched in a positive way”, say’s Tucker.
