“Letters in a box” is a tribute to the American singer/song tradition. It´s pop with a little twist of country.
G4gents is a London/Copenhagen based working collaborative that gathers to make high quality, emotional songs all the way from the idea over the recording to the final production. We call ourselves g4gents. What you are going to hear is the product from 4 very experienced musicians who has decided to join forces.
The producer has among others worked with Simply red, Ryan Tedder and the winner of British Eurovision some years ago.
The Singer is quite famous in Denmark in several bands and has had the opportunity to get several songs places in films.
The guitar player is also quite famous in Denmark and has worked with Danish pop for a long period among others, Ivan Pedersen (Laban) and internationally with Latoya Jackson.
The composer has been writing songs for nearly 4 decades.
The lyrics to “Letters in a box” are inspired by the composer´s oldest son and his girlfriend. He would like to live in the countryside and she wants to live in the city. How the story ends in reality we don´t know.
The melody was developed on a Spanish guitar bought on an auction. It has beautiful cords and even though it´s “just” a pop tune, we think it will be a durable tune due to the tricky cords and the beautiful harmonies and stylish melody. We think you can hear a bit of Eagles and Beatles in it, but of cause most of all, g4gents.
“Sweet Memories” delves into the daily life and existential existence of what is left behind after we pass from this mortal shell. The lyrics playfully toss around the ideas and thoughts we have each and every day, ending with the hopeful note that it is not the worst of our deeds and actions that remain but the simple sweet memories we have had and shared with the people around us. Vicious Kitty portrays in this song the hope that we all will be remembered with fondness by the people whose lives we have touched,
