Biography

Tommy G began working in the recording studio when he was nine. He grew up writing and performing in multiple genres of music. Tommy G won Ed McMahan’s “Star Search” at age 12 and has performed with artists like the legendary Lou Rawls and Tevin Campbell. He has been invited repeatedly to appear on Univision and has been featured on “Sabado Gigante” with Don Francisco several times. He has written songs for TV in Europe and the United States- including several for the Hulu show “East Los High”. Tommy G is fully bilingual and has a passion for Latin Pop music. “Can’t You See I’m Ready” is Tommy G’s first worldwide radio single debut release. It was co-written with Tennessee Songwriter’s Association International Songwriter’s Hall of Fame inductee, Thornton Cline and Nashville songwriter, Jim Wilson.

Ever since his mother signed him up for piano lessons at age five, Thornton Cline has been writing non-stop. With over 1,000 published songs, 150 recorded songs, twenty-six adult and children’s traditionally published books, Thornton Cline has been nominated multiple times for Grammy and Dove Awards. Cline has been honored with “Songwriter of the Year” twice-in-a-row and received a platinum certification for sales of over one million album units in Europe. Cline won the first place Maxy Literary Award in 2017 for “Best Children’s Young Adult Book”, and has had his songs recorded by Engelbert Humperdinck, Gloria Gaynor, Rebecca Holden, Gary Puckett (Gary Puckett and the Union Gap), Tim Murphy, Ray Peterson, Billy and Sarah Gaines, Tammy Trent, Matt Newton, among others. Thornton Cline has had his original songs appear in TV and major films.

 

In April 2021 Thornton Cline was inducted into the TSAI Songwriters Hall of Fame in Nashville recognizing his songwriting achievements over a span of 40 years.

 

Recently, Luckie Boy took Cline’s songs, “Cry Myself to Sleep” and “Hourglass” to number one on the Euro Indie Top 100 Charts and World Indie Music Charts where they both remained in the top 5 for seven weeks. Thornton Cline hit number one for 3 weeks and remained in the Top 5 for 8 weeks on the same charts. Cline resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife.
