The Push is an American rock band formed and based in Austin, Texas.
The story begins in South America, during their Middle School days, when Javi and Nacho would talk non-stop about music: during class, breaks, after school or while taking a bus to their favorite music store, where they would find rarities, bootlegs and live albums.
Most conversations would gravitate around drums, a passion they both share. Javi’s multi-instrument abilities would also spin conversations towards other aspects of the music industry.
Eventually, Nacho and other band mates put together a rock band that played in main stages of their hometown. At the same time, Javi was playing with other musicians and rock bands, and kept exploring with songwriting, sound engineering and production.
The years that followed split their musical brotherhood and they took different career paths. While Nacho pursued other professional interests, Javi continued heavily involved in the music business and was very successful with songwriting, even collaborating with several famous Latin American artists. His songs hit radio charts continuously and won awards and nominations, such as Grammy’s, Billboard Music Awards, Premios Lo Nuestro, Las 40 Principales, amongst others. Javi had the opportunity to tour the world, performing for thousands of people and sharing stages with renowned artists, such as Sting, Oasis, Collective Soul, Korn, Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan, to name a few.
Several years and more than 2,300 miles later, Javi and Nacho came back together in Texas and Sharing their life experiences was the inspiration for writing “No Light in the Darkness”.
Tuffy, an Austin-based all star guitar player and Einar, current bass player for successful rock band The Fray, joined Javi and Nacho in the studio while recording in Austin, to craft The Push’s debut album.
Recorded and mixed in Austin, TX, mastered in London at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, their Debut Album “No Light in the Darkness” is Javi and Nacho’s representation of pure, straight rock. The melodies and swings of this album will take the audience back to an era where rock was the commanding genre in the music industry.
